Project description

The Trust Ford Bristol work consisted of the relocation of the sales and service department into temporary accommodation followed by the removal of the portakabin building located on site. Work then commenced on the extension of the main showroom; the construction of a 2 car dry valet bay; new 100m2 used car showroom and provide a new 2000m2 car park and compound area with associated surface water drainage systems.

The existing Trust Ford Bristol showroom was extended with a lightweight portal frame; cladding and glazing systems were stripped from the showroom and the existing portal frame altered to take a glazed curtain walling system that now runs the entire length of the showroom. Internally, all existing finishes and mechanical and electrical systems were stripped and replaced to fit Ford’s corporate image.

The used car sales building was formed from a steel portal frame with cladding and glazing systems installed to match the existing showroom building. The hard landscaped areas of the site were extended to provide the dealership with a greater display area for used car sales - there is also a large customer car park area that has been formed as the dealership had previously struggled with an acute lack of space on the Trust Ford Bristol site.

Works were carried out under a design and build contract with Rapleys LLP acting as Contract Administrator.
